Sir Ed’s State Funeral to be screened in Town Hall

Wellingtonians are welcome to gather in the Town Hall next Tuesday 22 February to watch the live TV broadcast, on a big screen, of Sir Edmund Hillary’s State Funeral.

Acting Wellington Mayor Ian McKinnon says the Town Hall auditorium will be open from 9am. TVNZ’s full live coverage is expected to start at 10am.

A Book of Remembrance for Sir Ed will remain open in the Town Hall on Tuesday. The Book will then later be presented to Lady Hillary and the Hillary family.
